I installed PC Inspector to try to find a file I had put in the recycle bin
and then emptied the recycle bin. the
majority of the stuff found was a bunch of numbers and letters mixed. I was
able to find one picture only. I
typed in the name of the file that was deleted and it didn't have that - it
just gave me a bunch of numbers. I went through the tutorial and scanned
the disks. Didn't give me any names of anything though, just lists of
numbers. Any more ideas? Thanks.

I downloaded this file given and it only showed a few files that I didn't
even recognize. Not the ones I had deleted. In the file that I had deleted
were letters, resumes and photos. I have found nothing like that. Any more
ideas????

First, if you run Restoration, there are going to be thousands of files
listed.

Second, the file/folder names may not be listed as the complete names you
are familiar with.

You may have to look at the extension. Word files will be .doc, WordPad,
rtf; pictures will be .jpg, .bmp, .gif or several other extensions; NotePad
files will be .txt.

You can search for just the extension in Restoration. In the All or part of
the file box, type .DOC, .JPG, et cetera to make searching easier, finds
less files that way

See the Restoration README.txt.

Make sure that you are searching the correct drive(s).

I forgot to add that you'll probably see file names similar to this:
Dc25.jpg, Dc26.doc, etc. If Windows is installed on D:, you will see
similar to Dd17.txt, Dd29.bmp, etc. The number represents the number of
file deleted.
