sega master system

hello, i was wondering if anyone could help. i have a sega master system
with no power supply. could i use my sega genesis 1 power supply to
power this up safely?? been dying to play!! thanks for any help in
advance.

Just about all consumer electronics devices can operate outside their
defined voltage ranges - especially those that use batteries, since the
voltage level drops as the battery dies.I don't know which devices have
regulators, but typically you can easily operate a device within 20% of
it's designed range. I've gone further - such as running a Lynx (9v) at
only 6v, or an Intellivision 2 (16.8v) at just 9v. Of course if you're
going to use a power supply that is rated at a different voltage level,
it is safer to use one that is rated LOWER than recommended. That way
if you're too far outside the design range, at least the unit will
simply not run rather than explode.
