Radeon 7500 Valid upgrade?

K here's the Deal. I can sell my Radeon 64 DDR to a buddy of mine for $170. If that deal goes thru it will only cost me 120 bucks for the Ati Radeon 7500. So what would u suggest? I would wait for the 8500 but it's way to expensive at the moment. And a Nvidia Card is out of my budget also since i'm buying a AMD 1500XP and another 512MB of Ram, also another 30 Gig HD for a IDE RAID setup.

well... I don't see why the 7500 wouldn't be a decent upgrade.... how much does the Geforce3 Ti 200 cost for you? Should be close to the cost of the 7500, but with better performance.

My guess, is you can probably find the 8500 online for an equililent price of the 7500, so I'd sudgest trying that. Otherwise, it's probably not a bad upgrade. May not boost your performance too much for $120 though.

Here's the deal, if you plan on using the Dual display or any features that are unique about the Radeon 7500, I would strongly consider it. If you plan on upgrading just to get a new and faster card, I would wait until Christmas is over and buy a Radeon 8500. They will be cheaper by then and are much faster than the 7500.

If it works for you then don't fix it.

Haven't seen the Geforce3 Ti 200 anywhere in canada and i'm sure the 7500 will still be cheaper!

That's the dilemma! I was planning on waiting till christmas anyways. But my friend looking for a videocard won't wait that long. So I either sell it to him and get $170 for it or wait till after christmas and I don't think i'll be able to sell it for that price!

the radeon 8500 is only $299 on ati's website but they are currently out of stock

I'd say 20 more bucks and get yourself a GeForce3Ti200, much faster and play much more games and can last much longer... Or just wait for 8500. R7500 doesn't really worth it if you ask me... not much improvement over the old Radeon.

Geforce3Ti200 is no where to be found in canada so far!
And the 7500 is a major improvement over Original Radeon.
Geforce 2 Ultra Frame rates!

since your friend wont wait for that card, go for it, else youre throwing away $170 (tho suppose you could auction it maybe). consider asking your places when theyll get in the GF3ti though, even here in the UK theyre imminent.
