Hi folks,
My setup uses 3com equipement : 7250 AP and their b/g/a PCI card,
using WPA-PSK connecting at 11g.
(I'm not particularly exprienced with wireless, and I'm not a
professional network admin.)
I had thought that I needed to be connected to successfully login to a
domain, however I *can* login, but my computer immediately complains
that it can't load the users (roaming) profile, and then when I arrive
at the desktop screen the 3com connection manager appears to be still
in the process of connecting (which seems to take some time, but the
signal isn't great).
Once its conencted I can log-off and re-login and all is well (the
computer can see the shared foldrs and the roaming profile is loaded
from the server).
I really need the wireless connection to be as transparent as a wired
connection. The overt presence of 3com's wireless connection manager
is irritating enough (hopefully I'll find a way to switch it off
sometime). But for the machine to allow a login before a connection is
established is a real problem as my users are gonna complain. As far
as I can tell no connection is attempted until a user has logged in.
But maybe I'm wrong aabout all this.
anyone got any ideas?
Thanks
Greg
