I have a Toshiba C855D-S530 and an Insignia NS-19E310A13 new TV. I connect through vga cord. The problem is that the tv screen size and resolution keeps changing while I work. It keeps seemingly 'self adjusting' but rather than staying the same - it switches resolution and Screen Size keep changing every 5 to 10 minutes. It cycles between VGA 1024 x 760 x 60HZ and then VGA 1360 x 760 x 60HZ. Sometimes the screen goes black for a few seconds as it changes. Once in awhile a small square appears with “Auto Adjusting” inside the square as it goes through the change.

I've tried windows 8 settings with no sucess in fixing this. I bought an vga to hdmi adapter - and can not even get that to work. I am certain there is something in the tv or the video card of the laptop or in the windows 8 of the laptop causing this annoying issue... but I can not find it. I'd be very grateful for help - especially anyone who solved the issue. Thanks for your time and help!

Most of these issues are caused by incompatible resolution settings. You will need to adjust your video card output settings to find one compatible with your TV. Try setting the output resolution to 1366x768, which is 720p @ 60 Hz (Which is your TV's native resolution).
