Changing motherboard

I want to change to a new motherboard but do i need to reinstall windows.

Is the motherboard the same(same model) as the old one?

No, as long as boot drive is set as primary and all other hardware is same, there should be no problems.

Hi :) 

If its a DIFFERENT make or model then yes...you will also have to reactivate windows and may have to buy another copy of windows if yours is OEM...

I've had to call M$ to reactivate my OEM copy of windows when I changed the motherboard. It's not that big a deal.

Hi :) 

Going by what my computer shop customers tell me when they come in to buy another copy of windows its around a 10 to 20% chance..... no better...
