Changing location of My Pictures

Following an XP suggestion, I dragged the My Pictures to the Shared
Documents folder. That did not solve my problem.

I attempted to use Tweakui.exe to change the location back to My
Documents by Right-dragging but that didn't work. I then used Change
location and set it to My Documents. Tweakui now shows My Pictures to
be back in My Documents but it is not there. It is still in the Shared
Documents folder.

Also, My Pictures disappeared from my Start Menu.

How can I get My Pictures back to My Documents directory?

Verify/fix the path in the registry: (regedit.exe)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders

Set "My Pictures" path to %USERPROFILE%\My Documents\My Pictures
(REG_EXPAND_SZ type)

Logoff/login back. You'll need to move the files manually.

Ramesh,

Thank you. At first, it didn't look like the change took effect.
However, the next day My Pictures appeared in My Documents directory.
As you suggested, I copied the files from the Shared directory back to
the restored folder.

Really appreciate the help.
