My old BX mainbroad only support AGP 1x/2x
I'm not planning to upgrade it soon while I would like to install a Radeon 8500 or GF3 Ti 500 display card on it.

How would the performance be affected if the mainbroad do not support AGP 4x ??

I'm not asking do u guys support me to so or not, I'm asking how great will the performance be affected

Of course I know this will cut the bandwidth by half, but Raedon 8500 & GF3 Ti 500 should still unable to use up the whole bandwidth of AGP 4x. I want to know how much performance the card can preserve if run on AGP 2x

I don't think the performance will be affected by much. I tried my brothers GeForce 2 Ultra on my system, his is AGP4x, mine's AGP2x. I tried 3D-Mark 2001 on both and mine only scored a little less than his. Newer cards probably use a little more bandwidth, but according to Tom's reviews I don't expect it to be that much more. Maybe when he gets his new Ti500 I'll try it on mine first.

ON my gf3 going from agp 4x to 2x loses me an incredibly, 100 pts in 3dmark 2001, we dont take advantage of the 4x agp, so feel free.

PS: the gf3 ti 500 is a better card.

Really, odd, thought it would have been more. Hmm, I think I'll be using 4X AGP more when I OC to 300MHz GPU and 700MHz RAM. BTW, if I have water cooled heatsink over RAM and OC it to 700Mhz, think it can stand it?
