gf3 vs entire pc system

hi, plz tell me the way i need to choose,my problem are:
i get 2 options 1-buy a gf3 with my old 233mmx
2-buy a kt7266a by msi,a xp1600+
256m of pc2100 BUT CONTINUE TO USE MY OLD %$//***?%$"/)*&? MATROX G400 MIL grrrrrrrrrr....
plz- tell me whats the best options,be fast in video acceleration OR be fast with pure processor?????THX

233mmx and a geforce 3????
forget it.

thats such a waste of a graphics card... i bet with the motherboard your running on u cant even use agp 4x mode (or even 2x)

so's using a G400 on a athlon XP, but at least everything else is running fast! and when u get a bit more cash u can upgrade the graphics.

P.S. u dont have to get a geforce3 with your atlon xp.
geforce2pro or gts will still be an amasing step beyond what u currently have...

You'll get a lot out of a processor upgrade which could speed up your computer by posibly as much as 10x (Probably closer to 7x, but it's hard when compairing that far back). The video card is a bottle neck in the system, but a current upgrade there would be useless, as it's not the bottleneck in your current system
