currently have a Radeon 32mb DDR basic board. Would like to spend less than $150 since I don't do heavy gaming, occasional Diablo II and Madden 2002. Any ideas

Amd 1ghz @ 1.2ghz

if you can find the radeon 7500 for less than $150, get it. if not, get a geforce 2. not sure on what model geforce2 or the price either.

I don't claim to know anything about everything, I just tell people what I know.

You'd want better than a Geforce2 GTS to get enough bang for the upgrade to make it realy worth $150. Radeon 32 DDR is close to performance of a Geforce2 GTS (Especially if it's the retail 183 one), so no need to spend $150 to eak out 10% more performance or so.

Not sure where the 7500 falls in the performance/price range. However, I'd simply spend the extra 60-70 and get an 8500 or a Ti-200 than go cheep. If money is an issue, just save it for now.

What's wrong with your Radeon 32 DDR? What more do you need?

just my next logical upgrade, it's the cheapest piece of my computer, and just wanted to feel for some thoughts on current chips as I don't spend much time reading up on graphics.

I spotted a Geforce 2 Ultra on pricewatch for 137, and a Geforce 3 TI for 138? Are these similar in performance?

Screw it, maybe I'll get a 21" Cornerstone monitor instead. LOL,

don't let them fool ya, Size DOES matter.

Just wondering why you want to replace it... I use my Radeon 32 SDR for 2D mainly, also Diablo II, MS combat flight sim, and DVDs and it works just fine...

If that card still works fine why not get a better monitor?

Geforce 2 TI? Or Geforce 3 Ti-200?

The ultra is faster then the Geforce 2 TI, but barely. The Geforce 3 Ti-200 is much than the Ultra. However, ti-200s usually runs about $180-200 last I checked
