Am moving to a location where I have no land line at all but great cell site
power virtually next door. We have AT&T, Tmobile and Verizon services in
the area. I am seeking a wireless solution that will allow me to connect my
HOME computer to any ISP's phone number, like a traditional modem would....
NOT using GPRS. Have no interest in using the phone itself as a web
browser.
I converted to AT&T GSM phone(Samsung X426) with data kit and found that
AT&T charges for data transfer since the Samsung kit which includes EasyGPRS
ONLY links to the GPRS facilities of AT&T.
According to a specialist I talked with at AT&T Wireless, the Nokia 6200
phone with the data cable with Nokia's software suite will allow me to
access the phone number of my choice for wireless internet access without
using GPRS, yeah maybe its slower but I only get charged for connect minutes
never for data transferred.
Can anyone confirm that the Nokia 6200 will do the job?
Is there a better solution, maybe on T-mobile that I should be looking at?
