to maybe try to track this one down. i was wondering if anyone could
tell me why this game is considered so rare? and also what should i
expect to pay for a copy of this either cart only or hopefully

The game was released toward the end of the NES' lifespan. Games released
toward the end usually don't sell well, and thus not as many copies are
produced, and so they're rarer. The upside is that they're usually easy
to find in good condition, complete, sometimes even new in box.

Doing an eBay search reveals a bare copy going for $80 and a complete one
for $250. That's pretty steep.

Ouch, the price has skyrocketed. Bought a MIB copy of it back in 2000
for $25. I'd sell it, but it's long gone.
