Can anyone tell me why my diamond viper V550 is recognized as a NvidiaTNT card in Windows XP? There is no support what so ever for Diamond Viper cards for XP at the Diamiond website. This is kind of confusing. The card works well in XP and has passed all the Direct X tests in XP. Should I even bother trying to find the right driver or is this the best one for it?

The V550 is a Riva 128 isn't it?

All I can say is, that if it works, don't mess with it.

I've seen a system running XP and a TNT2 Ultra; it's fine using the default WinXP drivers.

V330 = Riva128
V550 = RivaTNT

(fond memories of Riva128 not running with SpecOps 3dfx which put me off 3dfx forever)

it should still run with the Detonator Drivers from Nvidia though. Probably better than running whatever default they use for XP.
