Hey, is it just me or is the Radeon 8500 at about 200 bucks on pricewatch ? This is the same price as the ti200 series so it should be pretty obvious which to get at this price range right ? It seems a little too good to be true, it isnt a different kind of radeon 8500 is it ? heres the link...

It's the OEM version. The OEM versions of ATI cards are clocked slower than the retail versions.

If ATI gets there drivers right next week, the OEM will be as fast as the TI500.

Would it be worth getting the OEM version of the Radeon 8500 over the GF3 TI500??? I have xp too by the way, i bought a radeon VE a few months back and it wouldn't work AT ALL with xp. Wouldn't even boot into xp, it would completely freeze, no bios tweaking fixed it. So i sold it. Could i have the same prob with the 8500?????

It's not worth it yet, wait before you purchase another week to see how the new drivers from ATI will perform. If they are good, then the OEM should perform as well as the TI500, if not, then I'd go with the Ti200.

I seen a retail 8500 at compusa for $199.00 the other day. Would have picked it up, but scraped for cash at the moment.
It had Made by ATI on the box, I would have to say its Retail. :)
It may have been an error on their part but thats what it said for the price.
