AGP 2X or 4X?

I'm installing my new motherboard which supports AGP 4X. My old system never even had the option. I have a Diamond Viper 550 16MB card. Can I set my AGP to 4X in my bios with this card?

u msut know whether ur motherboard support or not but fromt he way it is, i think urs is either 1 or 2x
u cant make use of 4x but it's not much of a difference anyway

My motherboard supports 4X however, how do I know if my card does and if I choose 4X in my bios regardless will it screw things up if my card does not support it?
