Anyone got any strategies for maximising scores?

Don't get hit. Also, make sure you turn your game system upside down
and blow on it before you insert the cartridge (or disc). Doesn't
matter what system, and this only seems to work for River Raid.

BTW, you should put an "OT" tag in your topic line so that people
intended to read classic video game related posts will be able to find
it.l

What about systems that don't have River Raid? If I turn my FM Towns Marty
upside down and blow it, will River Raid boot up?

I would just say don't get hit and be careful not to hit the
sides.....seems like the 5200 version is harder.

The last time I checked, River Raid IS a classic video game, you marsupial
moron.

<ahem>

I take it you are also sarcasm impaired, Don. It must feel good to
always point out when you are 'right'.

Let me explain the context of the joke to you in big easy concepts so
you can 'get it':

On the efnet IRC channel #RGVC both the esteemed Mr. Coleman and myself
are regulars. One of the running gags on the channel is that the
discussion usually has zip to do with video games, classic or
otherwise. On occasions when Mr. Coleman is being a smarmy smartass
(which is pretty much always) he'll pipe up with a comment like "So,
how about that River Raid?"

Anyway, Chris was lampooning the way the newsgroup lately has been
filled with off topic posts (sleep deprivation, genital shaving, etc)
-- by asking about that damn River Raid :-)

you do?

It's latex clothing, subtle difference.

The Commodores? Only good thing ever attached to them was Lionel's
"daughter" circa 3 years ago. Now she's as bad as Lohan.

Ohhh, Lindsay, what did you do to that sexxxay bod of yours? You're
wasting away to a pre-pubesent teenage boy, and the only one who likes
them would be Christopher Coleman of Australia (by way of Canada).
