Empty serach window

1 I start windows explorer
2 I click on "serach"
3 The search panel (for searching files and folders) shows but it is
empty. No form is showing.

How do i fix this?

this is after i have installed and uninstalled google desktop search

Show the hidden files and folders Rightclick C:\Windows\Inf\srchasst.inf Click install. The required file is in ../I386 folder on
the XP CD
