I had a problem with the PNY GeForce 2MX400 64MB card causing Flight Simulator 2002 Pro to lockup. To fix this I went to the DirectX sound and lowered the Hardware Sound Accelerator Level 1 notch. I also disabled the AGP support in display. I also disabled the Hibernate feature on my Compaq monitor. The system is Compaq 5000 series/700mhz AMD/192mb RAM/PNY Nvidia GF2 MX400 64mb/Windows XP Pro.I also moved the computer away from the wall to let more air circulate in and out. It's been working for 8 hours with no lockups. Hope it helps....

thx dude. wich typ of error did xp give you? and wich driver are you using? maybe i can fix mine too
XP never gave me an error. The game would just freeze. I couldn't make the mouse pointer or anything move. I would have to cold boot the system backup. I tried Nvidia latest driver the Destroyer ??something. It didn't work so I changed it back to the old version I had for Windows ME. I can't remember the version but it's for ME & 2000.
thanx a lot, i found the solution in the www.guru3d.com forums, under detonator. it was a problem with my chipset driver (via) so, i just have to install a special driver manually. all work fine with version 21.83 detonator.
cool. glad it's working. I'm going to check out that website and see what else the say. Thanks
