I am finding that when I unplug a USB drive (I have two, Apacer thumb
and external 20 gig drive) that the system reboots (no warning). If I
use the "Safly remove Hardware" it just reboots before I get a change
to unplg the device.

This has happened all of a sudden ..... system detils here:

Operating System
- Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (build 2600)

Processor
- 3.20 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4
- 16 kilobyte primary memory cache
- 1024 kilobyte secondary memory cache

Memory
- 1024 Megabytes Installed Memory

Main Circuit Board
- Board: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. 8I915P Duo Pro x.x
- Bus Clock: 200 megahertz
- BIOS: Award Software International, Inc. F1 06/16/2004

Bus Adapters
- Intel(R) 82801FB/FBM USB Universal Host Controller - 2658
- Intel(R) 82801FB/FBM USB Universal Host Controller - 2659
- Intel(R) 82801FB/FBM USB Universal Host Controller - 265A
- Intel(R) 82801FB/FBM USB Universal Host Controller - 265B
- Intel(R) 82801FB/FBM USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 265C

Does anybody have a clue why this has happened all of a sudden?

Many thanks

Trevor

Go to Start/Run, and type DEVMGMT.MSC , highlight the USB Hub devices, Action menu, "Uninstall", then restart Windows, to find the
device drivers again automatically.
