Hi, I have a Samsung NC10 netbook with some weird electrical issues. When I turn it on, I get a blue power light and the hard drive spins, but none of the other lights flash (like normal) and the CPU won't boot - just a blank, black screen, so I can't even get into BIOS. Here's everything I've tried so far:
- Hooking up an external monitor. Same deal - blank, black screen. If it were just the monitor the other lights would come on, too.
- Disassembled the whole thing, checked for loose screws/wires, everything looks in great shape.
- Same thing behind the screen - no obvious loose connections.
- Cleaned the whole thing with compressed air.
- Removed the hard drive and RAM and put them back in.
The CPU is soldered in so I can't remove it. Also, the laptop will not power on unless the battery is in, but the battery holds no charge, which is absolutely bizarre. I'm saying this because that might provide a clue to the problem, honestly I can live if it has its quirks I just need it to boot up.
