how to save as micro word in word perfect form?

my college writing course is making us send all essays by email in microsoft
word form. but my computer only has word perfect. when i click on word
perfect it gives me an option of microsoft word and i always click it. but i
dont know it is the right format for my essays.how would i change it to micro
word form?

What version of Word Perfect do you have?

If you still having problems, I would look at the campus bookstore. Since
you are a student, you may qualify for the Student Edition of Office, which
contains Word.

In the file menu, select "Save As".
Select "file type", then select the appropriate MS Word format.
The saved file should have the "doc" file type which you can send via your
email program.
