Please help me with a few q's

Hi all,
I've just been playing Max Payne and AVP2, and my system is really starting to wheeze with these newer games.
So i need a new vid card to replace my Radeon 6mmb ddr, i was thinking about a geforce 2 titanium, would i see a decent performance increase? Also would my cpu (900 duron) be good enough to push this card?

256mb ram pc133 cas 2
Radeon 64mb ddr 166/166
40gig maxtor hd

My next question is really bugging me, i need to find out the color and wavelength of light used in a CD-ROM laser, and how the light is generated (for my college work).

If you can't afford a GeForked 3 or Radone 8500, I would try overclocking your current card instead, it should be able to hit 183/183 quite easily and might even go 195/195, giving you significat performance increases until you have the money to buy a higher-end card. While the Geforked2 Ti might be a little better than what you have, try justifying the expense for maybe 10-15% increases, and I think you'll want to hold out for something even better.
