I've been recently having problemes with my graphics card (an Asus AGP-3800 Riva TNT2 Ultra). To sum up, my computer crashes whenever I try to play a 3D game (It even crashes when Microsoft's 3d Flower-Box Screensaver starts). I don't know if it has anything to do with me installing the most recent version of Direct X (8.1) or if it's just the card degrading (it's now three years old).

Anyway, I heard one can download diagnostics software to determine if a graphic card's onboard memory is working properly or if it needs replacing. Where would I find this kind of software?

Thanx in advance!

Did you try to install the newest drivers? Maybe the old ones are giving trouble with DirectX 8.1.

Yeah, that's pretty much the first thing I though of but there doesn't seem to be any new drivers for my card since DirectX 8.1. Anyway, the card is pretty old (3 years actually) and I don't think they'll be coming out with new drivers any time soon, even if it's an Asus. The only thing left to do is try to reinstall Direct X 7.0 and hope that'll work.

Anyway, thanks!

You also can download the Detenator drivers from the NVidia webpage, they support the TNT2.
