Shopping for 8500 card that some are around $180 and go all the way up to $299. Other than the $180 are oem is there a difference in the card or driver. For a $180 are you stuck with the old driver and if so do you get to update drivers online. Help! this is the last piece I need.

The clock speed is a little slower, that's the only difference on the card itself. Most OEM cards do not include the DVI to VGA adapter necessary to use two regular monitors, but it can be purchased separately. They also don't include the S-Video and Composite cables, and probably not the S-Video to Composite adapter dongle.

So since the card is the same, they use the same drivers.

What's the frequency, Kenneth?

Yeah what he said...
One is OEM, with no frills, the other Is Retail, with all the extras, mostly software. There is a difference in the speeds of the cards, but my opinion is if you are upgrading, especially from an older card like a geforce 2 like I am in the new system, then it will still blow the older away :)

To Be or Not to be... DAMN but that is confusing!
