Anyone have an opinion about the new Radeon 8500 all-in-wonder series? Looking for a good card and am torn between going for the bells/whistles or stripping it down to the Rad 8500/G3ti500. Is it worth the cash?

System: Intel 1.6/256 mb rambus/400 fsb / mobo Intel d850mvl
XP
DVD? What is a good OEM DVD to buy at a show, will the new graphics cards decode/encode(?) I don't need a seperate card, do I?

Cheers,
Mike

DVD-ROM? The Pioneer 106s (slotload) is the best.
And no, you don't need a separate DVD decoding card.

Lite-On make a 16x DVD-Rom with the fastest available Digital Audio Extraction, which would be a great plus if you plan on using it to make CD to CD copies to your burner. I think it's called the LTD-163, but you'll have to check.

What's the frequency, Kenneth?
