I am trying to install two new hard drives and I am using NOrton Ghost. I am trying to follow the guide on www.harddriveupgrade.com but I can't get the MS-DOS boot disk! (I am running WinXP.) I tired downloading images from websites, tried finding all the necessary files, all to no avail (Norton Ghost wouldn't recognize any of the disks I created, saying they are not MS-DOS). Finally I just said screw it and went with the PC-DOS.
My first question is, what's the idea with MS-DOS boot disk? Second question is, I cloned an 80 gig hard drive (with two partitions 40/40 gigs) to a 200 gig, why do I only see 185 total gigs on that drive (100/85 gigs partitions)? Lastly, I tried cloning my primary drive to a new hard drive (let's call the new one HD A) the first time to no avail, it gave me an error message 20 min into the cloning and I had to abort. Then I tried cloning my secondary drive to HD A and after EIGHT HOURS of operation, it ended and I found out that one of the partitions works while the other didn't!!! So I tried cloneing my secondary drive to using my other new hard drive (HD B) and that took only 1 hour and it works like a charm! Any ideas as to why that is? Thanks. Happy TxGiving
