I just got a new laptop with integrated Bluetooth. XP SP2 has built-in
support for the adapter.
I already have a Microsoft Bluetooth keyboard/mouse/USB adapter and XP SP2
has built-in support for these as well.
I can use my keyboard and mouse with the integrated Bluetooth adapter, but
wait-up times are MUCH worse than if I use the adapter that came with the
keyboard and mouse.
Unfortunately, SP2 seems to only let you have one adapter at a time. I
really want to have two adapters: one for the keyboard and mouse only, and
one for everything else. Is this possible? I can only install the
Microsoft adapter if I disable the internal adapter. This isn't a good
solution since the Microsoft adapter will remain with my docking station and
the internal one will always travel with me. Is there a way around this??
nuts and bolts of it all...
Microsoft keyboard/mouse/adapter are all based on Broadcom Bluetooth
silicon...and they work great together.
The Dell internal adapter is based on CSR silicon...and although it
functions fine, it seems to lack that special "something" that makes the
keyboard/mouse so responsive.
