Install this program called unlocker after it is installed then right click
the file or folder and select Unlocker. If the file or folder is locked then
a window will appear with a list of processes locking the file or folder.
Select the locks and click Unlock and you are done.

try Killbox http://www.pcbutts1.com/downloads/killbox.zip

No dice,
I've tried unlocker, killbox, moveon, ibprocman, apm and none of these work.
The files do not seem to be associated with a process. I think the file
names were too long when I downloaded them.

There is another program called MoveOnBoot which can be set to delete a file
on boot. Just right click it, select delete on boot. When you reboot the
file will be gone.

I've tried that too.
These are jpeg files with overly long file names. Nothing seems to work.

Thanks Don,
I was able to delete all but six files. Something is preventing access to
the remaining six but there is no way to change the properties.

Interesting - even the method at Doug Knox's link (combined with my "wild
card" modification) didn't work?
You might try to access the Windows Recovery Console, get a command prompt,
and try CHKDSK /R in case there is some corruption of the file system.

I'll give it a try Don. Thanks for all your help. I even logged on as
administrator in the safe mode and the six files still "denied access."

BTW love your website. I would love to be able to do what you do.

Well, we're definitely past my level of knowledge, so I'm afraid I can't
help further. Perhaps if Doug or Kelly are monitoring this thread, they
might have further suggestions.

Many thanks; it's been a huge amount of fun. It's not my 'day-job' but
occupies as much of my spare time as possible.
