Acer tech help

I have an Acer Aspire 5830. Every now and then I have an error saying my battery is not detected. Usually a reboot fixes the issue. This morning I dropped my laptop and I have the error again but this time it wont go away. My laptop immediatly dies if I unplug it. I tried searching for my battery behind the plate to see if removing it and plugging it back in would help. I took the back plate off and looked inside but didnt see anything that felt right. I put the plate back on and now my laptop wont even boot. Please help i need it for school. I dont have a warranty anymore with Acer so they wont assist. Hi

Try REMOVING the battery then plugging the charger back in.... it SHOULD start normally...

You MAY have damaged the battery...
