i have a geforce 2 mx400 and when i go into a game like halflife: counter strike and starcraft... the screen never stays at the exact resolutions of the desktop... i have my desktop at 800x600, but as soon as i go into the game the screen seems like it shrinks...... i have to adjust the moniotr but i don't kno what is wrong when i go into the game... could it be the monitor or could it be the video card....if you don't kno wat im talkin' about please private message and me and i'll try to explain more
thanx

Different resolutions will display different on your monitor, so you need to adjust the display. If you have an older non-digital (pretty old) monitor it will probobly have to be readjusted every time, I think most digital monitors save settings for different resolutions (at least mine does, in fact it has a store button). You would see the same happen if you change the desktop resolution.

i mean i can adjust the resolution through the menu on the monitor but everytime i leave they're not saved.... its a 19in. hyundai.......kind of a cheapy monitor but it was a true-falt and 19in. so i got it.......do you think that would be the problem??
