Hi
I have been for the last three days to do a clean install of XP home on a
new hard drive.I purchased a new XP Home disk, but it formats the drive then
loads files needed goes through the process of installing wondows when
finished it reboots and starts the procedure over again and again and again.
It is driving me insane. What am I doing wrong. Please help. After it tries
to boot I get the black screen saying Press (Home key) to boot local disk
then comes up boot failure. I have tried 2 different HHD but the same still
occurs. If I do not leave the cd in it asks for the floppy boot disk.

Any help would be great.
Thanks advance and anticipation

Sue, try disconnecting all your devices except the ones that are
absolutely necessary, ie Monitor, Mouse, Keyboard etc.
Also, you may have a faulty Ram Module. In order to check that you would
have to open the case and remove the Ram
module you have and replace it with one that you know works Ok. If you
have two modules remove one try it and then remove the other.

When it reboots during the install process it asks to click any key, DO NOT
touch anything, let it go ahead and reboot on its own. It should then start
where it left off.
Good Luck
