Archived from groups: microsoft.public.windowsxp.help_and_support (More info?)
I ran adware and spybot s&d it found a trojan horse when it removed the files
i restarted my comp and i cant get icons on desktop or the taskbar to show up
all i can do is use the task manager with new task. I tried messing with
msconfig and doing system restore to the last working configuration and it
didnt work. I tried creating a new windows user acct it didnt work either.
Thanks for any help you can give.

Try press CTRL+ALT+DEL to open up task manager. Click on file and new
task.
In the dialougue box, type in explorer.exe and then press ok. Hope that
brings back your desktop. If not, try do a System Restore. And if that
fails, do a Windows Repair.

this will work but we have to press CTRL+ALT+DEL everytime while start windows xp pl tell me permanent solutions for this is not possible to press CTRL+ALT+DEL and type explorer.exe in dialougue box every boot
