Hey all,

I installed the latest driver set from 3dfx community (www.voodoofiles.com) that supports directx 8, but the gradients in Quake III and Return to Castle Wolfenstein look bad. I know they look better because I've seen them look better. Not only are the gradients blocky, but smoke effects also have a very fine grid visible. The skys look very blocky. It is very annoying. I've got everything cranked to full in both games, but there is still no difference. Does anyone know if this is a driver issue, a direct X issue, or is there something not set properly in my tools? My Voodoo driver is 4.12.01.0666 and drirectX is 8.1. I played the games at various resolutions and with 2x anti-aliasing turned on, but no difference. I'm almost thinking of using a directx uninstaller to downgrade to 8.0 and perhaps that will help. Is there some OpenGL tweak I can use? Any ideas people?

Thanks..
