Could anyone out there tell me how to Disable the above? I am using the RC Edition etc.

There isn't a way, I remember reading about it in an article on cnet about releasing it to the companies. Too bad too.

Fire up Windows 8.
Download StarDock’s Start8 and install it.
During installation you will be asked if you want to automatically go to the classic desktop when you login, bypassing the Start Screen. Choose depending on your needs.
That’s it.
