I was trying to run IPConfig in WinXP and the DOS window closes just as soon
as it opens. I later found out that any DOS programs I try to run in XP do
the same thing. Is there a solution to this problem?

Type: CMD in the Run box to open a Command Prompt,
then type in IPCONFIG.

Are you properly initiating these CLI (command line interface) commands
from within the CLI, or are you clicking Start >Run, entering the CLI
command, and expecting the CLI to remain open after the command completes?
