after installing service pack 2 the product code that is under my computer
wont work ?? i threw away the package the sp2 came in, does it have a new
code or something? how can i activate my windows i have 3 days left.

What is the exact message you get when trying to activate?
Have you chosen to activate by telephone yet?

Is this the SP2 update CD? If yes, there is no product code.

If you threw away the retail key for Windows XP with Sp2, you might be able
to contact MS and request a new key. You will need to provide proof of
purchase of their Retail kit and not OEM versions.
