ok, here's the scoop. just installed the Radeon 7500 into my system (P3, 384Mb RAM, Quantex built box.. hehe) and am getting no love from the little bastard. 2d appears to be fine, but my 3d framerates have actually dropped from those i was getting with my Rage Fury two days ago. I tried the packaged drivers, the newest at ATI, and some beta drivers i found at rage3d. I also tried making sure all options in my advanced display menu were turned off... i.e. FSAA, Anti-Isotropic... blah blah blah, just about anything i thought might hinder frame rates - to no avail.

upon rebooting i consistently get an error that states that ATIPTAAA performed an illegal operation and must quit. i'm not even positive if this has anything to do with my poor 3d performance, but it needs to be fixed one way or another.

If anyone has a lead on why any of these most annoying problems won't fix themselves.. please jebus, let me know. I'd truly appreciate anything you all could do for me.

When will people learn that upgrading the graphics card is a fairly major change for the OS! Your drivers could be conflicting with each other. I recommend that you reformat and reinstall the OS!
