Can't figure out what is out of range. When my system comes up from standby, there is a gray box with red letters slowly flashing "Out of Range" that's all. All my temps are fine cpu 53C, mem 32C. Voltages are also ok. Has anyone seen this before. System Asus A7V mb, graphic card Asus V7100, 512mb crucial memory, creative 52x cdrom, plexwriter 16/10/40a cdrw, Maxtor 60gb hd.

My first suggestion would be for you to update your video card and monitor drivers.

What is your operating system, and what is the make and model of your monitor?

Do you experience the same problem if you use Alt+Tab to bring the system out of Standby Mode?

Thats a very common problem.. I'd just deal with it.

Toejam my os is Windows 98 SE and the monitor is MAG Innovision model 786FD. I update the graphic card drivers once but I didn't like the new drivers and went back to old ones. I could not increase the refresh rate over 60hz with the new drivers.

What kind of video card do you have, Billy? Do you recall the version number of the video card driver you installed that wouldn't go over 60Hz?

That was a common problem with older nVidia drivers (like the 12.xx series) with certain monitors ... but has since been fixed. The drivers still have an issue with running the display at 60Hz in games, but the nVidia Refresh Rate Fix normally takes care of that problem. You shouldn't even need it in Win98.

You can get the latest monitor drivers <A HREF="http://www.maginnovision.com/Service_Support/drivers/mo..." target="_new">here</A>.

Do you have the system set up in the BIOS (under Power Management) to store the system settings in memory when going into Standby or Sleep Mode?
