Well, it's on its way. Anyone here about it yet? There were rumors that the new GF4 will support 8X AGP, and maybe even the R300. However, I have also heard that it won't have backward compatibility, meaning that if you have an 8X AGP card with a Mobo that only supports 4X AGP, you can't go down to 4X AGP and basically can't use the card unless you upgrade the mobo. I just wanted to know what others have heard about this and what they think about it.

I was just reading an article on this at <A HREF="http://www.howstuffworks.com" target="_new">http://www.howstuffworks.com&lt;/A> and my impression was that Intel was indeed working on this technology and that the cards <b>should</b> be backwards compatible, so you should be able to run the data transfer rate at 4x. They would almost have to make it this way... I don't even know of a motherboard that gives an 8x option yet.
