After installing SP2, when I try to open the IE icon on the desktop it will
not open by clicking the mouse. I have to right click and select "open" in
order to access IE. Several icons have stopped opening in the normal way.
Any ideas on what is wrong?

Look at Folder Options in control panel, Filetypes tab, highlight the lnk type, advanced button, and change the default Action to
OPEN
