Before anyone stats the obvious, I already know I'm stuck in AOHELL, so please spare me that much.
First of all, I've never had that much trouble connecting at close to 56k (53kbps usually), with Win98. But once I upgraded to XP, I've gotten nothing but 45kbps or 49kbps...keep in mind nothing has changed. Bandwidth testers even show it as low as 34kbps! I've tried everything over the past weeks...disabling services, buying a hardware based modem (even though winmodems seem to connect me faster with Win98).
I'm really confused as to what's holding it back. Is WinXP just a dial-up hell?? Or is AOL just not meant for it??!
I dont know where in the world you are, but here in UK a lot of peeps are having probs with AOL7 on XP, also having probs with V92 modems, and probs with AMR modems
If they squeeze olives to get olive oil, how do they get baby oil?
Hmmm, I'm in California, and yea AOL is still 7.0. Maybe I'll just have to wait for them to upgrade it?
What kind of problems are you getting? My symptoms are slower then average speeds, disconnects...AOL won't recognize the modem even with proper WinXP drivers.
