I am building a new Pentium 4 1.5 w/ a gigabyte mobo. I come to understand that the p4's AGP slot runs @ 1.5v, right? How can I tell if a certain agp card will work in my new mobo? Are there two different voltages to the agp card (ie 3.3v, 1.5v)? If you install a 3.3v it will burn things up, right? Can some please help me I cant find anything on the internet that goes into this kinda of depth.

you cant put a 3.3v agp card into a 1.5 volt agp slot becasue a 1.5v slot has a notch somewhere in the middle of the slot...thus preventing you for putting the incorrect card in it.
anyways...i wouldnt worry about the voltage hoo ha because most (if not all) NEW video cards run at 1.5volts anyways...not to mention most (if not all) NEW motherboards support only 1.5vlot cards.

Does anyone have any technical specs on a Number Nine TNT2 ultra 32mb agp and/or a Diamond Multimedia Speed Star 16mb agp card? I was giving these cards to put into my new p4.
I have a GA-8ITXE mobo, 1.5ghz, 128mb pc800.
I was told that if you put in an agp card that is running @ anything other then 1.5v it will burn up the board. Is this true? I do know about the slots on the card itself but am under the assumption that only specifies 1x 2x or 4x. Can anybody help me????

First off what you don't tell the misses how will she know???

Ok on the 1.5V AGP cards there is a visual distinction which lets you know it's a 1.5V 4X card.
On the bottom of the card where the gold plated pin rail is at the end of the pin rail there is a L shaped hook. The hook is made out of the organic printed circuit board material but it doesn't have any trace etchings.
If you still have trouble figuring out what I am saying lay the card down with the GPU facing you.
On the left side is the card frame which mounts to your computer case and has the monitor port.
On the bottom is the gold plated pin rail that plugs into the AGP slot on your motherboard.
On the bottom right at the end of the gold plated pin rail is the L shaped hook cut out of the organic printed circuit board material.

If there is no hook then do not plug the card into your motherboard.

I suppose your misses is psychic like mine.
She knows even if I am thinking about buying something!!!

The TNT2 Ultra should be an AGP4x card, and AGP4x cards are normally compatable with the 1.5v spec. I'm not sure if there are exceptions or not, but I've never heard of one.

What's the frequency, Kenneth?

The Voodoo 5 series were AGP 4X compliant, but drew 3.3v of power.
