Can someone please tell me what the smegging LED's mean on the Leadtek Winfast Geforce2 Ti. The first one has errors written above it, the second AGP4X and the third Power, but the manual doesn't tell you whether they should be on or off. Oviously the error one should only be on if there is an error, but what about the other 2. My 4xAGP led is on, does this mean my board supports 4X or does it mean it doesn't? and what about power!?!

The card is excellent, but the manual stinks and LeadTek's website is the pits. If you buy one of these cards you are on your own

Thanks

Dan

I wouldn't say the manual stinks, it's better than some I've seen, especially on more budget boards.
Your question is really a no-brainer. You're already right about the error LED, the power LED is self explanatory (if there was no power to the board, you wouldn't receive a video signal to your monitor would you?). The AGP 4X LED indicates that it is using the 4x bandwidth/speed.
If you don't believe me, go into the BIOS and set the AGP setting to 2x or 1x,and see if the light comes on when you re-boot. If it does, I'l gladly eat my hat.

Yeah, Leadtek could have mentioned this in the manual, but I think it's hardly worth the effort. After all, If the power LED doesn't come on (assuming you've installed the card correctly), you can assume the card is f***ed, the reverse is true for the error LED. In either case you'd just return it for a new one.

I bought mine just last week and it's the best power card for the price in my opinion. Some of its' specs are even better than the low-end Geforce3's!
I'm not complaining when I get 107 fps in Q3 on high quality settings!! Make sure you use the Nvidia Detonator drivers and not the Leadtek ones. I got an extra 750 points on 3DMark 2001 just by using them.

Hope this helped

Tom,
That cleared things up for me nicely, but my power light isn't actually on, however the card works fine and the fan is going. Do you think it isn't on because there isn't enough power? my power supply is only 200w.

As for the AGP 4X light its on so by your description I should beable to use 4x in windows however my PC is a gateway and the motherboard is an Intel BX and doesn't let you change the agp clock setting so I am stuck on 2x at the moment

for now anyway, AGP4x is overrated. the difference between 1x and 2x is huge, but 2x to 4x is small.

If the Power LED isn't on, then yeah something is not right.
Either the LED is broken somehow or there might be a driver issue.
It takes piss-all power to light an LED, so I don't think that is the problem. If it worries you that much, return it under warranty for a new one.
When you upgrade your Motherboard, you'll be able to take advantage of the AGP 4x spec.

No more worries.
Tom.
