Ok...obviously the 8500LE is a better card then the Ti200. However how much better is it? I don't know.

Is it worth the difference in price?

And can we solve the issue...WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 8500 AND THE 8500LE?
-Can the LE be clocked up to the 8500 level?

I'm thinking of the following system:

AMD 1.5XP
Soltek SL-75DRV4
256 DDR Ram
Fujitsu 20GB MPG3204AH-E

Any views?

Thanks,

Ross

Ouch, you're going to get a lot of debate on that from Flamethrower and Matisaro. I agree there but Matisaro and Flamethrower don't seem to have firsthand experience with ATI cards and Matisaro hates the fact that ATI cheated in previous drivers.

To spare you the boring details on why that's not a simple question, I'll simplify it to this:

GeForce3Ti200 ~ Radeon 8500LELE
GeForce3 ~ Radeon 8500LE
GeForce3 Ti500 ~ Radeon 8500 retail

Again, people will disagree there but I have first hand experience with the 6011/9008 drivers for WinXP/Win9x respectively.

Yes and no. You're going to have to do a voltage mod on it to guarantee 275MHz+ but without it you may or may not get it to retail levels.

AMD 1.5XP

Is that the 1.53GHz Athlon XP (Athlon XP 1800+) or the 1.33GHz Athlon XP (1500+)?

Really you got a GF3 Ti 200 up to that.

Well which Graphics card shall I go for. The GF3 Ti500 us too expensive. So what is the choice...I presumed the 8500LE would be the best bet.

The processor is a AMD XP 1500+

Suggestion and comments please!!
