Ok here is my problem over at madonion there was a post about turning your card into a quadro. But this is through all software, I remember you could do this through a vcore mod. I need to know if these people are on crack and how the old vcore mod was done to accomplish this.

Thanks.

I am not exactly sure what your point is ? And I doubt that if they could acctualy write a thread they would be on crack.
I know that there is software available to make the PC think the card is a Quadro, and I also know that you can modify the card (Much more risky) to make it into a Quadro !

Go here for more info on it (And alot more for Geforces)

My point is i need to prove these morons wrong and laugh in there faces. That just because the comp says you have a quadro doesnot mean that it is thats what they dont understand.

The difference between a Quadro and a GeForce is the PCI ID, therefore "unlocking" features of the GPU. In actuality, this just means pay more, and software will have better optimization for it. What, did u not know that the hardware mod is simply moving resistors to give a different ID? That's is what the software way does....it tells the drivers to ignore that it's a Gf series, and set the renderer to Quadro. This means now that when u install say Maxtreme which checks to make sure that teh renderer is a Quadro series, it'll accept the hack. Also, you can now install drivers for the Gf that are Quadro specific meaning it will no longer be optimized for D3D, but rather OpenGL.

Well the fact that the computer thinks it is, is practically all you need. It will use the drivers in a different way which can lead to improved 2D performance !

Admitedly the card will never actually become a Quadro whatever you do to it.. but the modifications can lead to improved features for some users !

It also leads to improved 3d. Yes, u can turn it into a REAL Quadro, but it seems that there are only a few peops who know how to do that. *cough*

Exactly my point the video card will never become a quadro. And so what if you get a bit better point increase in openGL. But without the resistor mod the software is absolutly usless.
