I have recently been thinking about building my own PC. I can't decide whether to use a computer kit or to buy all the components separately. What does anyone else think and what additional information can you give me?

I would buy all the components seperate. It's usually cheaper. Don't forget shipping cost when doing that. Just the basics, read manuals, don't work over carpet, ground yourself, don't take stuff out of static bags until ready, don't force anything (except maybe some cards), It's really pretty simple, most stuff only fits in one way. Make sure you seat the processor fan good. If you aren't overclocking then the factory heatsink and pad are fine. make sure you hold the heatsink level and that you don't apply to much pressure to the cpu. It should go fine. I know I'm leaving stuff out, but this will give you a good start.
