With a score of 8700 i have the fastest P4/Win 2K/Radeon 8500.ALL 8500 include all P4 include.
There only 1 who beat me he on 16 Z-buffer with a 533 FSB who mine work at 4*115.He beat by 20 point by dropping Zbuffer i get can way more that 20 point.Anyway not 24 Zbuffer is not a default benchmark

I had better hope for my P4 1.7 but i stock at 1.950 with case open room at almost 5 degrees but i have buy my 8500 that i got very soon that i have pay 330 CAD with tax for a OEM version that have 3.6 NS hynix and have a very good overclocking pontensial 310/290 little artefact 305/285 no artifact.Soon i will do a voltage mod i will see if i can get to 310/300++.My P4 can almost finish a the whole benchmark (3Dmark) at 2.0 GHZ even at 40 degrees idle and max voltage and dont want to finish benchmark (any suggestion).

That's very low then. 8700 is a great score but I've seen dozens of people with 9000+ scores and Athlon XPs.

AMD technology + Intel technology = Intel/AMD Pentathlon IV; the ULTIMATE PC processor

If your pushing for pure 3Dmark2001 score there are many things you can do, not sure if you seen my other post to someone else, but ill try to cover important parts

Disable all devices in bios, serial ports, lpt, USB, IDE#2
disable video and bios shadowing
set AGP window to 64mb
set write cache to UC
use 2 sticks of ram
disconnect all IDE devices except hard drive
download cacheman and use it
download intel application accelerator and install it
download newest .inf drivers form intel if you havent already
defrag hard drive before you bench, only needs to be done once
put sinks on your video card before volt modding it if you have a OEM to retail modded one.
put a better HSF on your chipset or confirm thermal paste coverage on chipset
remove all PCI devices
go for max vcore voltage
if your using a retail HSF, get a better one, AVC sunflower or Akhura are good ones rated at 2.4Ghz+
in cacheman you can set your vcache 50~240k
unload unused exe's running in background.
shut down extra unused services

give that a try
