hello,

I bought a Diamond Viper v770 Ultra TNT2 video card about 18 months ago and only recently decided to buy an entire new system. I bought a P4 1.8 with 512meg rd800 ram (i think thats the name..the fast ram) latest Asus motherboard, 18gig seagate cheetah going at 15000rpm and the radeon 8500 (when the ATI distributor in Australia finally gets them in). This is my problem, i wish to use my current graphic card as a temporary measure so i can start using my new machine but theres a warning that the new asus motherboards require the card being placed in the AGPx4 slot be the new 1.3 volt cards and trying to place the old 4.3volt types in can damage the motherboard which i don't want to risk. I have looked everywhere to findout what voltage agpx4 the Diamond Viper v770 Ultra TNT2 uses but can't find the information anywhere and thought i'd give Tom's Hardware a try. Please if anyone could answer it i'd much appreciate it as i'm anxious to get my new machine up and running without having to go buy a new temporary video card.

The V770U has JUMPERS to switch it between 2x and 4x, which also switches it between 3.3v and 1.5v operation I think.

It's his signature, it appears at the bottom of every one of his messages and has nothing to do with you.

Nobody knows who Kenneth was. Not even the assailant who ask the question.

My brothers PC also has a Viper V770 and there are jumpers on it which can be used to set the card to AGP 4x mode, but I think your motherboard will also work with AGP 2x cards.

My case has so many fans that it hovers above the ground   .
