I don't know how credible this link is but if it is even 75% credible then its very interesting not to mention that the rv250 is coming (rumoured to be 1.5 times faster than r8500). I am speechless.

hehe, it might be possible. The Radeon 8500 has superior pixel and vertex shaders than a GeForce3 so with the right drivers, it's sure to compete with a GF4 if equally clocked to the GF4.

AMD technology + Intel technology = Intel/AMD Pentathlon IV; the ULTIMATE PC processor

It doesn’t seem credible that the Radeon 8500 would beat the Ti 4600. I’m not expecting a huge improvement over the Ti 500, but I expect it will perform faster than that.

If you would just wait for the geforce 4 to come out will you guys, even if these results were true so what we all have seen what new drivers can do from nVIDIA I am just saying that the results look interesting. Stop the speculations, but it does not look like the geforce 4 will give the r8500 the step-child treatment the gf4 will beat it especially at high resolutions (where fill rates matter so much) and look at the direct version 8.0 remeber both cards are optimised for directx 8.1. here is a another interesting link http://discuss.madonion.com/forum/showflat.pl?Board=techdisplayadapters&Number=383520 and another http://www.muropaketti.com/uutiskuvat/2002/0201gf4.gif

Why would we stop the speculations? They're fun.
Neither of those links is much use; the two PC's are two different to make good comparisons.

Ok, that G4 score is real, the video card is not overclocked.

The R8500 is overclocked.

Give the GF4 drivers some time to mature. the guy posting the GF4 scores has always posted low scores in the 8k's

Im scoring 10K's with GF3 and R8500

There was a GF4 default score of 11500 earlier today, it was removed tho, it was on a P4 @ 2.6Ghz

go fugger, go fugger, f-u-g-g-e-r- what does that spell! Fugger!:) Seriously though, I don't belive those benches are very credible, and do consider that NVidia would NOT release aproduct that is supposed to succeed a Ti500 if it performs worse than it.

Only if you let me see the Umpa Lumpa- Homer Simpson.

It was 11565 on a Northwood at 2606Mhz with a 118Mhz FSB (i850 chipset), do you know why it was removed?
All in all I'm still skeptical of these results.
