I've got a p3 500..and thinking of buying a creative geforce3 titanium 200....can't afford a new processor ..so i'll only be able to buy the video card...Do u think it's worth the buy? Will it make a big difference ( I currently own a geforce 256 ddr)?...

Don't u think the processor will limit the video card a lot?

Opinions would be nice...
Thx in Advance =)

It depends. A GF3 won't really let you play newer games much better on that CPU. But it WILL run games with much better detail than you currently are. 32-bit color should run at least as well as 16-bit is for you now, and higher resolutions should also work. Some detail settings in games rely more on CPU, some on your card. So that will require some playing around with. But even if you still get low FPS, you will be able to use anisotropic filtering and FSAA without much of a hit.

I think you'd be better off getting a faster processor (also much cheaper)!

What's the frequency, Kenneth?

I think you would get better performance if you upgrade your CPU instead of your video. I'm running a PIII600 at 800Mhz and a Gainward GF3 Powerpack!!! (245core/575mem)and it will do 128FPS in "fastest settings"

Before I had a Gainward GF2MX400 (240core/240mem) and it also ran 128FPS in fastest settings.

Only above 800x600 will the GF3 run faster than my MX, espcially running FSAA 4X

I installed my GF3 in myfriends 2.0Ghz P4 and it does 250fps in Q3 fastest... go figure

I still use a geforce 256 with DDR, a very nice video card. For todays games, get a faster processor, you will be more happy with it, trust me.
